Was working on the DST upgrade today and am now getting an X when sending emails, recieves no problem. Is there a fix with out having all blackberrys available. I have heard it may be a it policy problem any help please i am in major need of help here

yes it is a permission issue. We had hundreds who could not send. We ended up using a quick solution with Universal Groups.

Updated to 4.1.3 everything seems to be up and running,

Now handheld does nothing, won't recieve messages from bes pin or email. says it is sending email with checkmark but they don't send and tried enterprise activation and it sits at activating.

Boss is leaving for mexico and both our handhelds are down

please please help

CAn anyone help with how he used universal groups, i got the blackberry conn4cting again last night but still getting the x on sending, would like to try the universal group fix but not sure what he has done

First of all, look in the BES Admin sections - particularly for Exchange. This is the world famous "Send As" problem. Here are some articles to start with:

Delegated permissions are not available and inheritance is automatically disabled
search "AdminSDHolder, BES, DST2007" using your favorite web search engine
Users cannot send e-mail messages from a mobile device or from a shared mailbox in Exchange 2000 Server and in Exchange Server 2003 "Special rules for adminSDHolder Protected Accounts"

Could my problem be my mds server starting then running the stopping?

I am not a BES admin - sorry.
I think the problem is related to "Send As" - was your Exchange server updated with the DST 2007 patches?
