I am trying to activate an 8700 from Rogers. I have verified that the account is provisioned correctly for BES and the data plan is working.

The phone is here in the US and is roaming with EDGE on t-mobile and Cingular (both ahve upeprcase EDGE) When I go to activate it the email is generated and sent to the user. However the email just sits in his inbox and never processes out.

I am going to have the user close out of his email on the local machine and make sure he doesnt have it open on terminal services.

other than that any idea what may be keeping the email from leaving his inbox?

Do you add anything to the email? IE "+Virus Checked" in the subject line

If you do, it wont be processed.

got it working.

could have been 1 of two things

1) user uses .ost files and he may have had outlook open on both his local desktop as well as his terminal services desktop

2) our 4.0 BES is decrepit and is dying quickly. This happens alot to me when I try and activate during peak hours.


I closed all outlook instances and tried activating again at 4:30pm when the whole company was in a meeting.

btu he is fine now.
