1. Go to e-mail options, then select general options, then select change options for "display message header on."
2. I do not have Opera Mini installed, so this is an eduacted guess as to where to set this option, but it seems logical. Go to options, advanced options, browser, then select change option for "default browser configuration."

Now that I have 4.2 on my 8700...I wondering if I want to shell out $399 for the 8800 T-Mobile upgrade. I can get a GPS solution for much cheaper - if I feel the need.
And I really don't need an expansion slot (at the moment)....
*pondering*

I guess you have to try all the drop downs! I think the message header used to be a yes/no and I didn't even think it would be under that option. Thanks much!
As far as Opera goes...yep, that's where I looked for that. There's a dropdown that lists "Blackberry Browser", "Internet Browser", ir "Tzones"...no Opera Mini. Hmmmm.

Ack! Spent 2 $#*&;ing hours installing this thing last night.
Pros: I like the layout (time, icons, battery life) on some of the themes better. Love caller ID
Cons: This has been puzzling me all day...I can't edit the profile for my main email address.
I go under Profiles, choose advanced, then choose the profile (e.g. "Normal), edit, and then it lists:
Level 1 messages
messages (xyz@abc.com...my 2nd email address)
messages (xyz1@abc.com...my 3rd email address)
I can't edit my PRIMARY email address, and now the notifification is not working properly (I want Vibrate + Tone, and I want to change the ringer).
Somebody help, please!
Oh, and my Pocket Express hasn't recovered properly (keeps saying I need to update, and then links me to a bad URL), but that issue is secondary.
Also, the LED didn't go on after upgrading. I had to go change the setting.

The 4.2 OS makes the phone noticeably slower.
I've also had a few times after I have made a call in which it has reset the phone automatically. There are definitely bugs in it.
I'm thinking about reverting back to 4.1. The lag time on the phone gets quite annoying.
Does anyone with the BB8800 have the lag time as well? Its not as responsive as the 8700. Im wondering if the 8320 will have these same issues.

Rut Roh...Seems I can't get internet access either. It takes FOREVER to open a screen, goes through the whole progress bar and then hangs......
I just got a message when trying to use the Gmail viewer that I need a data connection to update. Please check my signal. I had 3 bars EDGE.
Any suggestions?
I'm getting frustrated and don't know if these are things I can fix or if I should just scrap it all and go backwards

Right now there is a data outage on RIM's end - Your problem has nothing to do with 4.2 or at least is not directly related to the upgrade. The outage has been reported to the carriers and also to RIM.

Whew! Thank you, Mdonders. That would have been BIG trouble!
Wanna take a stab at my other issue (see a few posts above)?

Someone had posted earlier about them not having all their e-mail addresses in their profiles. They figured out that as you added more, the limit of two e-mail address in the profiles would be the last two you added. I think you need to re-add your primary e-mail address now and it should show up under profiles. If you don't get what I mean, post here or PIN me.

Did the upgrade on my 8700c and now can not get EDGE or any browsers in applications. Reset service books in BIS but still nothing.
Any ideas?

See earlier post re RIM outage. I have the same issue on T-mobile. Lower case edge. When I called customer support, they indicated an outage. Makes sense since I can't send, receive emails or access internet. I guess perfect timing for us doing the upgrades and figuring we did something wrong (at least I did!).

I installed this and noticed the Today theme was different in that it shows "applications" on the main page. I couldn't register to get my service books back so I couldn't get email, etc. The unlock bug was not fixed, so I decided to go back to the previous 4.2. I'll wait until something with more fixes comes out.

Do you like 4.2 on your 8700? I am with tmo too.

4.2 Chinese is out. I just installed it and it works flawlessly. I can display Chinese characters, both simplified and traditional. I can also change input languages to simplified or traditional Chinese. Check out this post: Click here
