I just got my bb pearl last week. I noticed that there's options for changing settings whether it's in the holster or out of it. How does this work and what holster does it have to be in? Thanks..
Did you get a holster with your 8100? It needs to be in a holster with the magnet in it which puts the BB to "sleep". It works via the magnet telling the 8100 "You are safe now, baby, go to sleep... all is well." lol, sorta.
haha. actually i bought it off ebay because I wasn't due for an upgrade yet so I didnt get the holster that its supposed to come with. Do you know which holster it is or if i can get it online? thanks
at any TMo store, retailers, get the leather holster WITH the manget. They are on Ebay as well, or check the sponsors of this site too. The write should mention the magnet.
Just make sure it has the magnet in it... you can tell because a paper clip will stick to the outside of the case.
No holster comes with it john, I got the BB holster from Cin/AT&T that puts the pearl to "sleep". I have had no issues with it at all, I think I paid 25 or 29 bucks for it.
As an aside, if you want a horizontally oriented holster, look for ones designed for the RAZR. They often have magnetic flaps and the one T-Mobile sells is the perfect size and works fantastically with the BlackBerry.
the SDA vertical case from Tmobile works really well for the sleeper magnet function, probably can get one on the discount rack at any local tmobile store
