Called (5) stores in Tampa:

1). Should receive later next week.
2). None, "launched from wharehouse today" maybe next week.
3). Didn't know what I was talking about, checked, didn't get any.
4). Just got a shippment and are holding one for me (schwing!)
5). None, on order, are taking names on list to contact.

Just spoke to the Cingular store manager in my area to let her know my wife would be swinging by to pick up my Curve in a little while.

She said they only had 2 units left (including the one they're holding for me.)

me: no...the curve
them: is that the red one?
me: no it's the 8300
them: you mean the 8800

If this was a AT&T Company store, they all should be fired!

One of the stores I talked to, the rep asked if I was going to add a line with the 8300, when I told him no, he left me on hold.

I am telling you, "dumb as dirt " is too kind for some of these people!

Bought one at Mays Landing, New Jersey AT&T store. Was there at 10am. Salesperson looked at me like I had 3 heads said "We got the Dummy only" I snagged the manager who said they just got some boxes in. She came out of the back and said she had recieved 5 and was checking them in. Took an hour to get out of there with an 8300. Sold one to a customer while I was there. Paid $299. Ouch! The salesman said " Boy you should work here " YEAH RIGHT!

Just picked one up in Arvada Colorado (I70/Kipling). They got four in, one is on display, another guy picked one up just before I got there, and I got the third. My guess is that last one will be gone pretty quick if not already. I had called another store (Colorado Mills) and the guy said it might be on the shipment later today or Friday.

Now I just have to sit around and let it charge up. My first BB!

Even though I've had my O2 Curve for nearly a month now, I decided to pickup one from AT&T just to see what the difference is, and to have a spare.

My store has them in stock, well they did. I was there at 11:30 am and they had 15, after I bought mine several others were being sold.

My friend just went on his lunch break only to find out they are sold out.

I called the Mgr whom I know and he said they will be receiving another shipment on Monday.

So that's the latest from SoCal.

Cheers.....

Nothing in any of the stores in the Central/ SW Virginia area. The stores that knew what I was talking about, very few, said maybe next week. One store said they had been out of them for a while......I just laughed and said "thanx".

I am going to try Cing/Att sales line and work a deal- then just have it shipped. At least it will be on the way and the store can't approve good deals anyway.
Called this same mall store (Cingular corp store-Oxford Valley Mall if you are in Philly area) and they have them in stock. I felt like asking for the guy I spoke to in the AM and saying "I told you so" but then I grew up.

It is amazing how sure he was when telling me there was no chance he was getting it today and then BOOM there it is.

On hold now working a deal with Cing/Att online sales- working on credits to knock the price down.

Wish me luck, maybe they will let me buy online and go to the store to pick up- no shipping time to wait!

I will update if I get one- good luck everyone.

Update---Got it for free with 2 year contract.
299
-100 rebate
-199 in credits to my bill
= 0

I was able to do this with the 8700 when that came out also. I must add that I have been with them since I had a pager with Comcast Metrophone 15 years ago and I have 3 lines and a big bill every month.

Express shipping $14.95- it is on the way via Fedex.

You could not be more wrong!

All six dealers in my area had them in stock as of this morning.

After years with AT&T then Cingular & now AT&T, once again they Prove Why They Are Number One!

I have enjoyed many new product launches where I was able to buy the newest phone the very day it launched. Another recent example, I bought a new 3G Motorola RAZR V3xx on day one!

A Perfect Product Launch, nice display in the store, and lots of happy customers!

Just got my 8300 Curve, no problem....

I visited two stores in the Tulsa, OK area on my lunch hour. Remarkably, they both knew of the Curve and didn't give me dumb answers like some of you are getting. The first store said they received their shipments for today, but they hadn't unpacked them yet so they didn't know for sure. I think they probably got some as this was the same store that had the 8800 on day 1 which shocked me. The second store told me that they'd probably have them on the 1st, but none had arrived today. That's ok for me though, I got my order in through Premier so I'm good.
