T-Mobile charges extra $20 for the priviledge of using their hotspots, on top of their 'regular' cell phone plan. It is rather a hefty add-on, $240 a year, for the priviledge of using so-called free WiFi.

By the way, battery life on WiFi cell phones is really really short.

doubt ful the charck 48 if your using a data plan with an aircard they mix it as having access to data and hotspot service in thsame plan> i know this caus i have a sony-ericson GC89 aircard. I doubt they would pull the wifi charge on you. what i wanna kno is you can go wardriving and WEP cracking on that thing

We were at the T mob shop and as of today they are offering the Hot Spot at Home. Basically, it is an unlimited plan that if you are in a wifi area or Hotspot, your phone will VOIP and all calls will be free.

I have read a couple of reviews on the HotSpot @Home service and it seems the main gripe is a not-so-smooth hand off between WiFi and GSM. The testers had many dropped calls. I am just thankful that I get 5 bars of service INSIDE my home at most times.
