So, I would like to know if installing the version you propose is possible with a French provider and if it will not affect my communications (as our networks are not really the same i think). Please note that my phone is locked (SFR enterprises).
I hope your version fixes these ****ing errors that sometime erases my mails with no reason, do not react normally when i try to answer a call (and so destroy my ears !) or show bad pictures of my correspondants during a call.

Waiting for your answers. Many thx.

Default Bug?

the only bug i have notice so for is that sometimes when i get a call it doesn't display on the phone. it is buzzing/vibrating and ringing but it doesn't show anything on the screen. if i press the green button i can take the call and if i look at the screen while the call is still on it shows that there is no call.
strange...

I think we can use the BBMaps whenever you get at least the "gprs" (lower case) signal. I don't have the BB data plan, but I subscribe grps service with my local mobile provide (Viettel) and the BBMaps just works fine.

Default Yahoo Messenger

Asked on page 5, but got no response. Any way to "preserve" the yahoo messenger? Every time I upgrade the process removes the app and I have to go back and find it and install it again via the web. Just hoping someone knew how to work around that:

Unrecognized modules that will be removed:
net_rim_yahoo_messenger
net_rim_bb_qm_yahoo_resource_en

It is possible but results vary. To set up this way you'll need your APN settings for your carrier.

You can find them here:

The current approved UK O2 version is 4.2.1.93 and I am not too pleased. I don't use Suretype I use the double tap and I get lots of spelling errors. For example, double tap D/F to get 'f' and you get 'dd'.

mr. green,
Your question has been asked and answered many times on this forum. You can't do OS upgrades with a mac unless you have a way of running windows on your mac. You need a PC. Check out our Mac Users Corner forum for more info on using mac with the Blackberry.

Is the letter doulbing problem still showing up in the new OS?

I know that it shows up in the phone app, but does the multitap still double up in other things, say, SMS composing?

Default New Message Indicator

I noticed that if I get an SMS (have not tried other message types) and wait for 15-20 minutes without checking it, the blinking LED changes from RED back to GREEN. At this point, if I pick up the phone, there is still a new message indicator on the screen, and the message is still indicated as new, just the LED had changed what it is displaying.

I think you have never called a french hotline... They don't know what they talk about. They don't even know what a blackberry is. I have paid a lot to contact unskilled people before giving up.

Could be the usual lag upon rebooting...but I've noticed a bad lag in the ALT-SYM sequence. Easily 3 seconds before the symbols come up.
