Exclamation 8700c (Cingular) Can't enable bluetooth.

When I go to options / bluetooth, and click enable.....nothing happens. It just won't turn on. What gives?

Are you on a BES? The admin might have disabled BT functionality.

Blackberry Enterprise Server.

Are you able to wireless sync your contacts, calendar etc. with Outlook, Lotus Notes, etc? If so you are on a BES through your company.

Ok, I go this blackberry from a friend. She had cingular as well, so she gave it to me. I have only transfered my contacts from my slvr through the sim card. Currently I am still using my SLVR, because of this bluetooth issue. So, I haven't called up cingular and transfered my account over to the blackberry, or changed my service to use bbm, etc. Also, I am on a mac. So I tried to download all the updates for the device, but you need a PC to send the updates to the blackberrry? This sucks.

So call up your friend and ask her if the device wirelessly synch'd her work contacts, calendar, etc. If so their is probably a BES policy that is still in place not allowing BT connection.

She doesn't know. I'm not sure if she ever used that. Is there anyway to do a hard reset that will knock out this BES policy?
