And that's a BAD thing??!!??
Sorry, mom-in-law, you can't leave me voice messages, because my high tech transcriber can't understand you

Rated it about a 3/5 Good proggy, little too much $ for a superfluous application.
the free version is really not worth it, just made to be lazy and the transcribing version is too much for me. im a cheap bastard :(

Everyone is entitled to his / her own opinion. Having stated that....
There are so many times I get a "missed call" and I'm in a loud place and/or someplace where The Wife Unit will not allow me to call someone back. Being able to see the "gist" of what the telephone call was about is very helpful.
With the pay service, having an MP3 of voicemails left for me over the years will be priceless - especially as my parents gets older (i.e. I'll have a recording of their voices).

I tried it and dont like it. The messages should show up under the mail folder (with the rest of the mail, duh!), not buried 2 levels deep in the applications folder.
If i gotta navigate down to the app and message, its quicker/easier to hit the 1 button and go right to vm.
Good concept, bad implementation.

You can set the notifications to be sent via email or SMS so that they will show up in your messages folder.

The advantage to the free service to me is when I have 10 voicemails, I don't have to scroll through each one to get to the one I need at the time. I see the caller id info and date / time stamp in the application, so I can pick the one I need.

The issue isn't your phone model, it's your cellular carrier. Currently, the SimulSays service works only with AT&T/Cingular and T-Mobile.
If you read through the entire thread, you will find that a couple of people refer to similar services which might work with your phone and carrier.
Good luck.

used the prog for about 4 days, like it so far...but have a few bugs i'd like for them to fix:
1) when the app fails to connect with the VM system, it seems as if it doesn't check again once it eventually connects. last night i had to do a battery pull for a unrelated reason and when it rebooted, it alerted me that i had a message from 5 hrs ago! luckily, it wasn't important.
2) the ability to delete on the app itself would be great and not having to call into the VM sytem or go to the site to delete.
hopefully their listening and these simple bugs will get fixed in the final version. otherwise, a great prog! thank you!

When I first downloaded the app, I decided not to go with the transcribing option even with the free trial period.
In any event, curiosity got the better of me. I went to My Accounts and entered a credit card number. I also enabled Send transcribed messages via SMS Phone Delivery.
However, I am not getting any transcribed SMS. Is email option better?

I installed this OTA and now I'm stuck on and endless reboot loop. I cannot connect to my Blackberry now using either the Desktop Manager or jl_cmdr.
Anyone have any ideas?

It says on their support page:

Based on that, I don't think you can add the service just by putting your credit card info in.
On the plus side, I had another issue and their support folks responded very rapidly, so you will probably be able to get it taken care of quickly.

Works with the Curve too. From the SimulSays website:
Quote:
SimulSays[Beta] is compatible with the BlackBerry 8800, 8830, Pearl 8100, Curve 8300 and Windows Mobile for smartphones (non-touch screen devices).
|
I think we now know from kingston_albert's experience that it is not advisable to install it on an 8700, tho.

I used to have it on my 8700c and it worked fine. It did require OS 4.2 though. (I emailed tech support first to ask before I installed it)
Great idea for an app, and with some refining, it could be even better

In light of this, might we change the name of this thread to "Visual VoiceMail for SOME!!"?
