Default opinions requested on need for screen protector

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all!
I just got my first Blackberry, an 8830. I had a Motorola Q just before this, but prior to that, I had a Treo...with a touch screen. The Q's screen was so durable and scratch resistant, I just didn't need one. Maybe I'm extra careful, but I do tend to lean towards the side of caution.

I know various people will have different opinions, but I'm just wondering what the general concensus is about the necessity of a screen protector on an 8830.

Thanks!

Bruce

I doubt you will get much variance in the opinion that you do need one.
For $10.00, why not do it?

Anybody that says you don't need one, or they aren't worth it, either is living on the edge anyway, or has never used the screen protector that I have.

I'm of the opinion that you don't need one until you need one and by then it is too late.

Yes get a screen protector asap!!! I NEVER have a device without one on it!

You can get a Best Skins Ever to protect the entire device and you never know it's on for 6 bucks!

Agreed. I have been using Palm Pilot screen protectors for my bb devices from the very beginning.

I'll jump on the pile-yeah, screen protectors are a great investment. I use the Siedio static cling protectors, because I do't always do such a hot job of mounting them straight the first time, and these will allow you to peel it off and try again. They seem pretty sturdy, I've had my current one on my Pearl for about 9 months, and it still looks great.

Thanks so much for that! I've been sitting here trying to decide what protector to order and most of the ones I see are water mounted. I just don't like that idea. But you say the siedio ones are static cling, so that's the way I'm gonna go!

Appreciate the input!!

Well... my opinion--ScreenPatronus (google them or on ebay) are excellent. I have had great customer service from them, and the protectors last 3-6 months I have found out.

Thanks a bunch! I'm going to remember that! I jumped on Seidio because I had ordered something from them prior and wanted to get something on it asap. But I'm making notes in the event I don't like Seidio's.

appreciate it!
