Default Is there a way to put my 8100 in gprs mode

Please Login to Remove!

I am trying to find a way to make my 8100 only do gprs mode instead of EDGE... at my house the EDGE signal is kinda of weak but when the phone goes into GPRS I get 4-5 bars.

Is there a way to do this? Make the phone go manually into GPRS?

I searched the forums with no luck on the matter. Any help would be great.

scroll where you see automatic high light and change option to manuel

Sorry i just found this
The ATT SIM card prevents manual network selection. Though my phone is unlocked, and I can use other SIM cards in the phone, when the ATT SIM card is in the phone, manual selection is not an option.

Does not say Automatic.

When I scroll to options, my selection is Mobile Network...

I open that up and it gives me the option to turn data on or off..

Under that is says Mobile Network: AT&T

The only option I get when I highlight it or go to options is to run a diagnostic test. No option to change or search the networks.

I've experienced this before. I *think* what's happening is that you are in range of two cell towers, one with EDGE and one with GPRS. It could just be bouncing between the two.

So does anyone know how to make the crackberry just hit gprs? I know with verizon it was a sequence of keypad strokes that enables evdo or just 1X... does AT&T have something like it?

I don't think you can make a crackberry use just gprs.
