Leather case or holster?
Please Login to Remove!
I'm looking at the 8300 leather case as compared to the holster...the leather case protects it better. However, when you put the phone into the leather case, doesn't the ball get pressed in at times if pressure is applied?
The holsters don't have this problem, but they expose the phone a lot more.
which do you guys prefer?

If by "8300 leather case" you mean the OEM leather case with the rotating belt clip and the magnetically secured flap over the top (to hold the Curve inside), then there's no problem: this case has a groove on the inside, both front and back (so you can have the Curve face either way) so the trackball isn't pressed in when the Curve is in the case.
I'm considering the Seidio hybrid clear/black super-thin rubberized case and holster combo, but for the moment, the OEM leather case has been excellent. Soft leather, good protection while the phone is inside it, and it's extremely functional - quick and easy to get Curve in/out of the case - very convenient.

Holster all the way, I cannot do without being able to clip that bad boy on me while I'm out.
Hey Vinmont, if no trouble for you, could you link me to a site/image of the OWN holster? I got one the day the curve got released but I'm SURE it's not an OEM and some holster just randomly put out from att. Thanks man.

I recently bought a curve from a friend that did not come with the oem leather swivel holster. Does anyone know where I can buy one?
I have one for my 8800 and love it.

I know I paid list price ... but I picked up the OEM leather case at an AT&T store (didn't want to wait to have it shipped). I suggest a quick web search - but, for example, you can order one via Amazon, for $10.26, at:

I personally prefer the OEM leather holster. I even have my curve skinned and has a snug fit. Don't really have any problems accessing the phone either.

I'll have to check out the OEM Leather case then...I personally like holsters better now but the protection just isn't there.
I mean those that have the holster, have the Seidio one correct?

Hi IANN - sorry I missed your post before. Wasn't subscribed to the thread and you had already scrolled off by the time I got here - just saw this.
Anyway - here's a pic:

That's what I'm using, but I wish it had a clip on the back (where that empty slot looks like it should have one) so I could clip it when needed.
Do you find it tough sometimes to pull the phone out from that case? Maybe I'm just toooo careful, so it's a struggle at times. haha
I hate those new holsters with the flap over top. I liked my 7290 holster, the hard plastic one.

They don't? Call me a woman then.
Not sure if you guys saw, but Fortte, has some sweet coliurs in their holsters and you can even get some custom stuff done, little extreme but they look pretty nice. Anyone have those?

nothing comes with the 8300....they used to (my other BB's) come with at least one standard case. You've got to buy one when you're there or order one online....

Thank you vinmont for posting that, that is the one I've seen on some sites. Mine has no branding on it, just the smae looking type from att but with no blackberry logo.
MVPlaya, no, I've got one from att. Looking into ordering another, but I'm pretty picky about the clips. I might land at fortte as far as I can tell now, though im not sure a fan of those clips on their premium cases. we'll see.

Any got your rubber case when u buy the 8300? I got it in the package. however, it does not have a clip. It is lik a pocket rubber case to slot the device into it. However, when u slot the device into it, the device backgroud light will switch off by itself. When you pull the device out, it will turn on by itself. Not sure what mechainism they use?

You're not in the US right?
I don't think anyone out here in the states got any sort of holder with their curve, as far as I recall. From reading around here anyhow.
