Default Error on BES & Domino Server??

Please Login to Remove!

We constantly receive this error message. One for each user in the BES.

Unable to open CN=mailserver/O=domainname!!mail\user (This database cannont be opened because a consistency check of it is needed. 0x03B6)

Any suggestions as to what is causing it? There are no known issues with users and their devices or with their mail files.

How do you run a consistency check on this?

What's the compact level of the database? Does the user have a large mail file? Did the user delete a large number of entries (mail, calendar) recently?
Have you tried to run the following maintenance tools on it - fixup, updall and compact?

If you are getting that on BES. Either the file is not there or its corrupt. If its corrupt you need to rin fixup.

No I have not ran any of the tools mentioned above. We get this error message in the event viewer on the Domino 6.5/BES server with all mail files, but with a Blackberry source error. Users dont seem to have any issues with their mail.

The users themselves may not experience any "errors" but the BES agent is experiencing a problem when it attempts to read the users' Inbox. The tools mentioned is part of good housekeeping and Best Practices approach to maintaining your users' mail files in a good state which optimizes performance. Have a look at the database properties page and see what the compact level looks like. If the BES-enabled users mail files show less than 90% compact, then you should run the tools to at least eliminate this condition and then see what the response is like after.
Other items that may cause this effect is one or mail entries may be corrupted and may be required to be deleted manually.

Does the time of the error:

}
coincides with any scheduled compact, fixup or updall tasks?

Sometimes when Domino is running scheduled compact on the mail dbs and when BES is accessing them, it will report this "error".
