Please Login to Remove!

Hello to everyone reading this,

that being said, im going off the wall trying to figure out how to achieve this seemingly impossible feature on my bb 8100. the video file. im sure everyone has figured this out and im the late kid to the party. ive downloaded 3gp files, m players, and a few others that have been mentioned. every time it ends up the same result. "unable to display file" . ive saved it to the memory , ive tried saving it to the memory card. even went through the steps of downloading one file and encodeing it. all attempts end in "unable to display file" . just to make sureim not completely stupid, i verified that the mass storage device was on. (it was.) what in the hell am i doing wrong? please please please send some help my way. sorry for showing up late, im sure you all are tired of this question. thanks in advance:

The latest version of DM (4.2.2.14) includes a Roxio media manager that will convert videos for you. Just drag/drop the video, and it does the rest (converts/copies). Very easy.

EDIT: get it HERE

I have to say the RIM really dropped the ball here. I am a pretty technical person and so I had no problem reading the forums and figuring out how to convert videos so they actually worked. But since RIM billed the Pearl as a media savy device - they sure made it difficult and unfriendly to the average user to actually accomplish.

I used to use the command line method with M Player - but the Seabyrd Video converter works quite well - it's basically a GUI for the good ol' mPlayer command line method.

It's these types of stumbles on end-user friendliness that Apple is trying really hard to pounce on with all their marketing of the iPhone. Gotta stay sharper RIM.

I would have to agree. The BB takes a little technical know-how to get going.
