Default Restore not working properly, Need Advice

Please Login to Remove!

Everything has worked fine on my curve except no UMA. So I decided I was gonna whipe the curve and do an advanced restore keeping "Handheld Keystore" and "Trusted Keystore" out of the process, according to T Mobile that is what causes the issue.

Anyway, when I click advanced in my desktop manager ( After I whipe my curve) there is a split screen. The left is the Desktop Database and the right is the Device Database.

The desktop database is EMPTY, nothing in it. While the Device Database is full of everything. Shoulndn't it be the other way around. Then I can move the selected things from the desktop onto the handheld? I dont understand why this is happening. Basically I can't do an advanced restore.

On top of this. I went back and restored a previous point and it still does not restore properly. AKA no Phonebook, nothing.

I accidentally whiped my curve with it still plugged into the computer, could it have cleared the restore points that were saved on my computer?

Anyway I just figured I'd make a post because I've been on hold with Blackberry Support for 44 minutes.

I also am still using the desktop manager that I installed on my computer from my pearl. Should I delete it and re install the software that came with the curve. This is annoying.

Search your PC for "*.ipd" which is what any backup file will by default end with. They are normally then named by the date of the backup. You will want to find this latest backup file from which to restore.
Further info at the http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Main_Page pages.

And, yes, you should upgrade to the latest version 4.2, Serv Pack 2 of Desktop Manager, also linked from the faq site.
But I would not do this until you find those backup files.

Ok I got it to work! Sweet.

When you say I should upgrade do the newest desktop manager. Should I uninstall the current one and re install the new one. Or is there simply an "upgrade" option/link that will upgrade the old version.
