Using an 8310 AT&T I receive a "You need to configure your phone to allow us to locate you" message.

I see no menu options in Google maps regarding GPS settings. Under Options/Advanced/Application - Google Maps - connections setting I see a Location(GPS) = Deny that I cannot change to anything else. Above Location(GPS) I CAN change things like "Phone" to Allow,Prompt or Deny.

I assume that I need to be able to "Allow" Google maps to access Location(GPS) in order for it to work properly?

Under Options/Advanced/GPS I do get a location reading which changes as I move and refresh, so the GPS appears to be working.

I have found it best to go into Blackberry Maps and "Start GPS Navigation". Then exit out and go into Google maps. It will show a little flashing blue ball and arrow shoing your current location. I haven't seen any menu item to start GPS in Google Maps.

On your device under Options/Advanced/Application - Google Maps - Permissions/ connections - Location(GPS), does yours say "Deny"?

Does it also say "Deny" under blackberry maps permissions?
