Well, if anyone (hint: Spencer) wants to make a shiny-new backup of the service books from their phones with the books I posted (wow that's a confusing sentence) that would probably be the way to go, to avoid any further confusion.

Lol, no joke, I'm talking to you right now, as we speak.
Always make sure to uninstall the old version and rebooting before installing the new version. Since the uninstall of the new one and the reboot didn't seem to fix it (same error after reboot), you'll want to go ahead and update the OS on the device.

yup, just by using the search button, you can find all kinds of crazy things to do with ur blackberry... you should try it! click the "search" button... then type in "yahoo! messenger download" and look for your answer. think of this place as an encyclopedia britannica... you have to locate the question you have, before finding the answer.
i will help you once and one time only... here is the link you need.

Hey spencer I have a question:
I have my pearl 8100 through T-Mobile and I recently installed the Y!M application. it installed just fine but when I tried to sign in it says "server does not support handheld"
Now, this pearl is just for my personal use, I dont have it set up with any business and I dont have any other SIM card to work with so I was wondering if you had any tips on how I can fix this problem? Everyone I talk to on any messenger is on yahoo so I could really really use this app.
Thanks in advance
Jake
P.S. dunno why I went and got a blackberry haha I am not that tech savvie.

Missing the Icon for New Yahoo Messenger v2
Thank you Spencer....I had used your instructions before to get Yahoo working on my 8700C and they worked great.
I tried downloading the new client and all H*** broke loose.
I tried wiping out my device and starting over but to no avail.
I have been able to load the new service books and the new client (listed under the applications) but I cannot find the icon anywhere for it.
anyone....please help....desparately need Yahoo on my BB

Arghhh Keep getting "service not enabled for this handheld" on my blackberry pearl. Have tried 3 times to make this work. Can see the yahoo service book on the phone, followed the steps each time. The only thing different I can see is that when I resend the service books to the phone, I just get confirmation of setting up my email accounts, rather than a message which tells me the service books have been reinstalled - is that right? Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hey guys, just had to say that I did a search this morning, found this page, followed the steps, and had it working in less than 30 minutes. Thanks a bunch!

Worked for me too - and I am on MTN Nigeria.
Did anyone notice that you cannot see any MSN contacts online on YIM. Seems this is a bug on the 2.0 ?
