I have a unique issue, many of my custmers required the ability to do Wireless LDAP calls to a remote LDAP/Certificate server in the states. What is the best way to implement this??

You need to explain this more ... what are the calls to? LDAP is a standard protocol used to access directories; do you have an app that uses LDAP?

Please provide some detail.

This is a unique problem based on the customer; let’s suffice it to say that this particular customer is part of the US Government. The Government has numerous forests and domains across the U.S. and the world. My customer has the need and authorization to access the DOD repository of all DOD certificates and the associated e-mail address. I can connect using LDP and view the repository using anonymous authentication but when I set the LDAP setting under “Connection Services” (version 4.1.0.38) we cannot wirelessly connect. Our users do not have access to the Desktop Manager; we use Wireless Enterprise Activations for all devices (they can only use e-mail and limited certs). We loaded a desktop manager on a workstation and configured it to use the DOD LDAP settings and were able to pull address information. from the manager but our users want everything wireless!!! They do not want to use Desktop Manager. Any Ideas, this has perplexing us for about a year?

This is one of the issue that I will be bringing up with a RIUM consultant once our support agreement is finallized (yes, the tight wad managers have finally caved and are paying for support). I would like to fix it myself since we have other tasks that we want the consultant to help us sort out.

The issue I see with configuring the server to do the LDAP connection is that ALL handhelds would also have this ability which I can imagine is not a desired effect...

Actually that is the desired afffect. My users need to be able to do an LDAP query at any time against the remote site. They can do all the queries they want against my AD Domain, but they need to get outside....

Hi all,

This solution is written for MS-Exchange. Can I use this for BES for Lotus Domino ?

And also, how do I configure the password to access to LDAP ? It's not wrriten about the password for LDAP.

Thank you.

I imagine it accesses the LDAP using the credentials under which the service is running (BESAdmin by default).
