yeah i was thinking it was DTMF as well. you could always turn that off, of course you wont be able to use any phone menus that require you to press a number lol

I never had the DTMF tones in ANY BB until now with my new 8310. Even the 8800 did not have have dialing tones. I know we have always said there was no way to turn them off, but I never had them.

I don't think this is the DTMF tones for the number being dialed. I have perfect pitch (when I hear musical pitches, I can identify the note being played), and the tonal sequence seems to be identical between any of my speed dials.

The interesting thing I noted was the volume is actually changed on the phone. The volume slider moves to the mid-point to play the tone, then returns to whatever volume you were using.

Too funny how this forum brings things to my attention that I normally would have never thought about (though this is only my second day with my new 8310!).

I agree, that is not DTMF tones. Even my imperfect pitch can tell that.

Any tips?

Thanks!
its like you are sitting in a taxi and you hear the CB radio go off....one way to get rid of it is to change your profile to "Vibrate", it will go away...you can edit rest of the profile settings to match to what you like.

i had that happening to me constantly on my 8830 before i returned it to go back to my 8703. i HATED it. I use speedial constantly and i also use speakerphone alot. the biggest problem I've found, and I'm surprised no one's mentioned this yet, is that you can't press a speedial button and then immediately press the speakerphone button. You have to wait like 2 or 3 seconds until that thing has started and finished in order to activate speakerphone. I think the reason is that speakerphone actually toggles on and off real quick in order to project the sound. it SUCKS.
