Well I finally got the word and it's not what I wanted to hear :(. This is a direct copy/paste from the email I received at work,
"Thank you for contacting Garmin International,
Here are the answers to the questions in order.
1. The Blackberry service is currently only available here in the US and
can only be used through us based carriers.
2. The maps cannot be loaded to a card. The blackberry phone pull all
thier map information from their servers and there is nothing loaded to
the unit map wise it downloads what it needs as needed.
3. As I explained above how the Blackberry downloads it's information a
Data plan is required. You cannot use this service without a data plan
and if you travel outside of your coverage area you will not have GPS
information anymore as you can no longer access the blackberry network
to download it. So your Navigation would not be accessible until you
traveled back into your coverage area.

So yeah it does require a data but whats even more stupid is that he's saying it won't work in Canada yet we sell it on our website
.
Anyway at least we got the answer and it looks like it's a regular GPS system for me. At least I have 3 months unlimited data so I'll have a great time until then.
Cheers guys
