Default UMA outage?

Please Login to Remove!

Is anyone experiencing a UMA outage? I'm connected to my router, but my UMA has been out for about an hour. I'm in the Los Angeles area. Thanks!

I am reading on some other forums that the website and some databases are down due to the extreme rain in Seattle where T-Mo is based. I would assume this could cause UMA issues as well since on a traceroute the UMA server that I connect to seems to be in Seattle.

How exactly did you do a traceroute to the UMA server? How did you determine the system name?

Just for info, UMA is working for me here right outside Philly, PA

Extreme rain in Seattle? Thought that was par for the course up there.

My UMA is out as well. Also in LA.

On my router, the D-Link DIR-655, you can see a listing of all current connections being processed through the router. I looked for ports 500 and 4500, and found one of each going to a single IP address.

Some other routers have it too, but you might have to enable logging and/or install a log viewer program on your PC.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

You can also see the UMA servers and IP in the network diagnostics on the BB.

UMA is down along with a lot of other things... you might be seeing a delay in e-mail or slow net. The extreme weather has taken a toll on tmo. All BIS/BES/and winmo subscribers can be affected.

Default Thanks

I have been going nuts trying to figure this out. I finally got everything working 3 routers (2 from T mobile) and 2 curves later.

cool thanks for the info. Not sure where "Network Diagnostics" are on the BB? Are they within Options?? Was wondering where the blackberry was talking to for the whole UMA service. Looks like things are starting to come back up. Time to go to sleep here on the East Coast. Tomorrow everything will be fine

I'm glad I still have my E61i. It can go around all this mess and connect for VoIP independently as well as the internet for data access. If the BlackBerry does end up not working due to this T-Mobile issue it is REALLY nice to know I have a backup plan!

UMA seems to be back for me again as well. I have a friend who'd been trying to get ahold of Tmo all night trying to find out where her new Curve she ordered Nov 18 is. I don't know if knowing rain was the reason will assuage her frustration much

I live in Portland and up and down the coast of Oregon and Washington we had hurricane force winds of up to 120-130mph and 8-10 inches of rain on the coast- 50mph winds here in the city. Seattle is only a few hours up the road, and they got hit just as hard. HUGE storm. Lots of people without power still. Pretty Crazy!

Update: My UMA just failed at around 12:30am: I am just getting a W006.1 error now. T-Mobile's website is also completely down.

Edit #2: My UMA just came back up, t-mos website is up, but with just this message: " T-Mobile's online systems are currently unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your interest in T-Mobile.com/My.T-Mobile.com service offerings."

So they must have been hit pretty hard up in Seattle as well.

Hope everyone's UMA came back up!
