I only keep about 15 to 30 days of e-mails, and do not download many attachments, I only have a few applications installed, and generally I have at least 2MB free space on the blackberry. Why does it act sluggish? Like saving a phone number to the book or searching for an e-mail, etc.. I get an hour glass and it takes very long time for it to disappear.

All of my pictures, etc. are located on the memory card.

When is last time you did a battery pull! That generally frees up memory

2mb is very low and that is why.

I also have disabled Content Compression on my BlackBerry. (Options > Security Options > General Options.) But I do think pulling the battery will help you more.

Do you have a memory card? If not, get one pronto! Store all your media files on it and you'll save that precious internal memory the device needs to function properly. You're storing something in your internal memory all right. Videos? Music files? You don't get to 2 MB of free memory without saving a ton of crap.

2MB is not nearly enough free space on the BB. Do a forum search and look up ways to save memory by deleting applications and other things you do not use. For example, deleting the extra languages on the BB can save you a few MB. And yes, a media card is a must if you are storing media files to the phone itself.

Yep, I mentioned that i store all of my pictures, songs, movies, ringtones on the memorty stick. I think I need to remove bunch of stuff from the BB. I also suspect that Google Maps occupy a lot of space as well. I even recently removed bunch of applications, I have no idea why I only have 2MB left.. Maybe too many e-mails.. I do battery pull like 2-3 times a week.

Try to remove any e-mails that may have large attachments, maybe. Or any MMS messages.

I have 16 mb and I have viigo,espn launcher, abcnews launcher, suduko,google maps, opera mini,infospace, berry411,gmail app,bb weather and google maps. I also have 4 emails account including BES mailbox. I average 100 emails a day..... And I dont save anything to my phone unless its a email..... So compare what I have to yours

tdawg, that sounds like me, with less programs. I only have two accounts, and have about 70-80 e-mails daily, and I don't generally open many attachments. I honestly have no clue what is occupying so much memory.

Is there anyway I can see list of programs with memory occupied? Applications do not list the memory usage. Maybe desktop manager can help me.
