Question 8820: Two uninstall questions

Please Login to Remove!

Two Questions:

1. What's the correct way to uninstall something on the BB?
I've tried:
a. going into the BB's application list (Options, Advanced Options, Applications) and deleting from there.

b. unselecting it from the DM's loader.
Is one way better that the other, or are both wrong?
2. Why would my DM application list (as shown to me via DM's loader) no longer show me anything that was installed via DM? It only shows me what I installed OTA (via the BB).
If I look in the XML file located in C:\Documents and Settings\myname\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader History\, I see all my stuff, but DM no longer shows it to me.

I don't see them listed on the BB's application list (Options, Advanced Options, Applications). I can still see and use all the apps on the BB, they just no longer appear in my list of apps, therefore none can be uninstalled.

If I try to re-add the "missing" apps via DM, it tells me, "No additional applications designed for your device were found." This means DM thinks it's already there, right? What am I doing wrong?

I have generally tried option "a" myself. Seems to have worked for me mostly.

I use a Mac so the Desktop loader isnt an option for me.

Can someone tell me where DM saves its info?

If I knew, I might be able to restore it back (I take many onsite and offsite backups)...

I found where the loader keeps its stuff. I'll post back after I play for a while.

This morning I tried reloading the DM.
I followed these instructions on uninstalling the DM, then installed again.
Nothing changed.

Then, I re ran the BB OS exe on my PC.
As I suspected, DM didn't see any change, so it said "none" in the action column.
But, after device rebooted, my DM now sees all the stuff on the BB.
