Default Blackberry 8820 will not show inbox subfolders

Please Login to Remove!

I am having issue with a Blackberry 8820. For some reason it will not show any subfolders in my in box. I have configured the Desktop Manager to show the subfolders but when I go to my Blackberry it only display the folder but not the content in the folders. I have another Blackberry which is a 8800that I configured the same way and it worked great. I compared both Blackberries configuration and it's all the same. Has anyone run across this issue? Thanks.

Try going into messages > options > email settings > press the menu key > select folder redirection. Select the folders you wish and then try.

If your folders are "personal folders," offline with Outlook, they won't show up on your BB. Trust me, I've been there and find that very frustrating.

If they are personal folders, what would I have to do to convert them to folders I can view on my Blackberry? Thanks for the advice.

.PST files ... just to be certain you're not trying to sync these ... lets make sure what they are from your standpoint. In Outlook goto Options > Tools> Mail Setup> Data Files. Check the names of these (although the "root" folder which has subfolders within, may not be the same). close out both of these to return to your Outlook. IF there were any in these .. then you have .PST files (or "personal Folders" that are OFFLINE to Outlook and the EXCHANGE server, and thus your Blackberry. However you 'can' sync these LOCALLY over USB to your HH but whats the point?

Make sure the "subfolders" your after are in this format:
Mailbox - juansifu (which is like Mailbox - yourname )
Deleted Items
Drafts
Inbox
- Quarter Reports
- User Registration
- Car Derailments
- etc etc.
Junk E-mail
Sent Items
Auto Archive (I forget the name here but its where emails older than say 1mth that you've sent or kept in the root of your inbox is.)
Personal Folders on H:
- Family Vacation
- - Face Paintings - Kids
- - Son's Belly Flop.
etc etc.

^ if you're after emails in the structure I've listed in bold for Personal Folders ... those are offline.
If its directly a subfolder to your inbox ....
then follow the directions given by jsconyers. Alternatively you can check in BBDM > Email Settings > Folder Redirection and select the inbox and all the subfolders you wish. Then do a local usb sync. this should fix things.

Outstanding Jagga, you have explained it where I understand it know. I guess what I can do is create a new folder and place those items form the personal folder to the new one. Thanks. for the help.

Anytime!

Double check your Outlook Filters (local or server based) to see if it'll affect new incoming emails .... You don't want to simply move emails from your PST file into a subfolder in your inbox and then "expect" emails from the same person/subject/email address to follow suit. If you have filters setup to auto send when sent to you or as they arrive in the inbox to any PST/Personal Folder ... then those new emails will not show up as you intend.

Lastly, Keep in mind that the more emails with attachments (large 2+MB attachments) that are in the Inbox or subfolders within the Inbox; are counted towards your space on the Exchange server. Where I worked before it was very common that Exchange Server Mailbox sizes started out & limited to 25-30MB.
