Hi,

we are having a 10 mb cap on the data limit.I am trying to convince that this data limit is rarely crossed as the data is compressed and encrypted.
Can someone tell me how this is calculated.As in if a users receives 10 emails with 5 mb attachment each will the data limit be crossed and how much data(approx) would he consume in the data transfer.

How long is the mail with attachment stores in the cache so that when he views the mail for the second and the third time it does not retrieve the same from the server as it is already on the cache.

BES only send messages to the BB in 2K chunks. If you receive an email the length of a bible only the first 2K is sent to the BB initially. As you read you can request another 2K.

Attachments are not sent to the BB. You have to "open it" at which point BES will render the data and send it to the BB.

Also, generally speaking, it's the other stuff that users do besides E-mail that typically eats up bandwidth. Web Browsing is probably the number one bandwidth consumer.
