Josh,

Is this supposed to update contact changes? ie... I added a mobile number to one of my contacts and never saw it update on the device. Should it have updated?

is your device actively running the software? i find that when i boot up i have to launch the software, then leave it running in the background for it to work properly.

I don't see it when I look in the task manager or the open apps but I can't figure out how to launch it other that clicking the icon. So as far as that goes yes it is running but I don't see it in the task manager.

I also found today the calendar is not working. I added a few entries today in outlook and none of them ever made it to the device. I just had to do a manual sync or tomorrow would have been off to a bad start since I have an 8:30...

also, if I check a box on the device is that to make it sync or to make it not sync?

is... The box is empty for email but it seems to be syncing yet the box for contacts and calendar are empty but they don't seem to sync. Am I looking at this backwards?

This is Josh...accidentally hopped on another machine that had another person's login info. Oops!

Sith-the data being sync'd is encrypted. Once the handshake takes place, then the data is flushed from the database and only the ID is kept.

Soap - checking a box means enabling that sync function. Also, the software should start when windows starts up. If you have the contacts sync enabled, any changes should be updated.

Also, BBerrySync behaves similarly to apps like Yahoo and MSN chat, where if the app is minimized and in the system tray next to the clock, then you will not see it as an open application in the Task Manager and won't be able to Alt+Tab. If you click the icon and pull it up as an open window, then you can see the app and alt+tab. Also, you can always check the active processes running, our process is BBerrySync.exe.

Also, a note on the Initial Sync Data Map...we have two options for you, USB and offline file. Off course, the USB option requires that you connect the USB cable to the BB and that you have Desktop Manager installed (but not running) on that computer. The offline file version is where the BB data map file is created and then you have to copy that file to your pc and then the data mapping will take place. I am really surprised hear of an initial sync data map taking hours to complete. I have about 650 items (contacts, notes, etc.) and it takes me around 5 minutes. Also, keep in mind that you need to desktop manager sync right before doing the initial sync data map - which will ensure that both PC and BB are identical.

Dawg - Have you tried the offline initial sync data map? It will need you to use the media manager to move the sync file from the BB to the PC, but would bypass the USB.

Invalid Account, you are not registered with bberrySync Data Server

Anyone else have the same problem? Can anyone help solve this problem

did you put your login information in the options before validating connection? you have to put it on the device now, and in the PC app.

try rebooting the device and then waiting a few minutes before you validate connection. if i launch the app immediately after booting it doesnt connect.
