When i recieve a voice mail, in addition to the VM message icon, I also recieve an email telling me i have a VM. I dont want to recieve this email.
Is this a setting i'm missing somewhere?

It's not an email... it's an SMS message.
In my experience, you can't do anything about it.
You can try calling your carrier, but I believe their response will be that you'll need to disable all SMS messaging in order to stop receiving those notifications.

It's something that most CDMA BlackBerry users eventually learn to live with.

I didnt have this problem with my 7100i. Can i somehow blacklist the sender?

Nope you are stuck with it. 7100i is IDEN not Cdma
