Could this be what's locking this thing up cuz SP3 don't even launch completely...?

Most certainly - the PC app needs to contact the BBerrySync server, if it can't do that then the app is never going to work. That's pretty crummy that your company's config means you can talk to their email server and nothing else whatsoever!

That restriction is just through the VPN as it keeps your computer from acting as a server or allowing someone who has hi-jacked me from getting into the company. I will try at the job tomorrow while I am directly on the LAN to see if it acts differently.

Well, yes, that will certainly accomplish that - in a very heavy-handed way. No company I've ever worked for has been so ham-fisted about it though, including some really big ones that know a whole lot about computers and security - like a 3-letter company beginning with I. There are more elegant, much less restrictive, but equally secure ways to do things. Just an observation - I understand its not YOU that put that into place.

Has anyone talked with Josh and team to see why our Outlooks are not updating.
I figure to ask in case someone had a fix.

I agree 100%, 79sp3 set on update every 2 min on my device, based on Josh's advice, drained my battery in 6 hours, i mean drained it to ZERO. It can't seem to connect from the bb so I stopped the service. Hopefully the next release will work better for me.

but the timer should still be only every 2 minutes. mine is transmitting data back and forth all the time rather than sending a packet, waiting, waiting, waiting, erroring. still very strange.

I'm not having battery problems, but I am having memory issues...twice now I've been well under my usually 10 MB absolute bottom. Got down to 6 yesterday and to 7 today.
Anyone else seeing memory issues? I'm syncing every 2 min from BB, but volume is just about zero over the past day or so, as we've been out and about.

I've never seen any significant battery issues from BBerrysync, so I would tend to think something else is at play...just my two cents.

nope my memory only fluctuates by about 1mb even after battery pull. are you running anymore apps? i have a hunch though, that the more manual syncs you do the more memory it takes up, since it caches the information in the app. (if you go into the app and hit sync now, then validate connection, then sync now, it will layer the three screens on top of one another. if you hit the back button once, it will go from the sync now info, to the validate connection info, if you hit it again, it goes back one more level, etc)

The only app i added was bbsync, and this happened today. I've been with them from the forst beta and i have never seen this before. Like i said before, i think my bb is not connecting to their server.

I don't think VPN has anything to do with it...as long as VPN provides connectivity to the internet (and I've never run into a VPN setup that didn't) you should be fine.
The fact that you can't see computers on your local network is normal for VPN connections...neither my wife or I can see local network resources (printers, computeres, NAS drive, etc.) when on VPN, but we still have access to the internet, which is all BBerrysync requires....

It seems like we fix one thing and take a set back two steps. We have received your reports and will work to resolve them. Some of you have some particular configurations, so we will do our best to resolve the majority cases and then work out the special cases. All I can really say is please stay patient - we will won't give up, but do understand if you want to stop beta testing. Thanks

Josh,
I am here to the end to help you get this software out to production. As we all know, beta testing sometimes can be very frustrating, but in the end it all works out.

I think that many of us intend on seeing this through. I also think that it will be a great program when you have finished.
Be sure to be patient with us. While it may seem like we are beating up on the work that you and your team have done, just remember that we are here to help you develop the piece of the BB puzzle that we are all missing, and want so much.
You guys are doing a great job, just remember that you will figure it out.
