Well I just upgrade to .97 yesterday but I using the vzw release and everything seems to be working great. Memory looks good after 24hours.

* Applications: 4.3.0.97

Select Blackberry 8130 from the dropdown and click Next. Then click the "Download" link that appears at the bottom of the page.
Instructions for installing on any CDMA 8130 from any carrier:
1. Make sure you have the latest version of Desktop Manager installed. It's 4.2 SP2, or Version 4.3, and can be downloaded Click Here. or from the AllTel site linked above.
2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running the file you downloaded.
3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to DM again and run application loader again and it should load the OS to the device.
Previous version OS is located here.

Ok..so I downloaded this update, which went fine. But after the update, I noticed my signal is always 1x, never with the EV or whatever that is, which it was most of the time before. I am on Verizon. So, I decided to download the Verizon version. I unistalled this one from my computer, downloaded verizon's, deleted the vendor file and plugged in. It brought up the pop up screen to update, and I clicked update. But the it says nothing new to add. I can't get this to downgrade for the life of me. It just never gives that option. Anyone have any other ideas? I did the unintstall off my computer like it says somewhere in a post, but it still won't downgrade my phone. Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you tried updating your PRL version on your blackberry by calling *228 [send] & picking option 2? That might help with signal issue.

Everythings seems to be working good, i upgraded after i had to wipe my phone after all my icons disappered and said "app error 523" and the new install of the OS seemed to fix this, i have noticed a few things the sym screen is diffrent like everyone said and not all youtube videos are a supported format so they will not play and my GPS seems to act diffrent also with a new message "unable to aquire a GPS lock" hmmm ????? but hopefully they are making these phones better and better

UPgrade and verizon compatibility
I have the verizon 8130 and the link i keep seeing in this post states us cellular and on the smithmicro site that verizon usually uses to host the updates it is not there. Does this mean it is not yet released for the verizon version? Or can someone point me in the the direction of a verizon stated link please.
