It is normal that my device is always running (alt+esc...):
- Phone
- Browser
- Home Screen
- Blackberry Messenger
- Messages

I suppose it makes sense if it is (normal) - to keep them on top for quick access. But if so is there a way to edit the list? I don't use Blackberry Messenger for example...

yes those will always run, ATT will also add Push To Talk. You can remove BlackBerry Messenger

I can remove it from the running list, or I need to remove it completely?

you can remove it completely, and thus removing it from the list. but you cant just remove it from running if installed
