Go here....

Should work on 8330 and open videos in media player...

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

Works like a champ on my 8330.... I downloaded WebShortcuts and made a shortcut to the site

Hey everyone,

Thanks so much for your suggesstions. I'm glad its working on your curves 8330, but I still have no luck. When I go to the suggested links you recommended and click on a video, I get nothing on the media player.

Any more suggestions?

make sure you are using the bb browser and it is in blackberry emulation mode. Also, if your reception isn't sufficient, the download will timeout. Try doing a battery pull as well.

Sorry for the "newb" questions, but where can I find the bb browser. I just have this world icon as the browser. When I click it and got to youtube, I get nothing. Also, please tell me how to get into blackberry emulation mode.

Thanks everyone.

Is there a way to view these videos using the internet browser rather than the Blackberry browser?

Open the web browser (the globe on the home screen), press the Menu key, select Options, Browser Configuration. Emulation Mode is the second option below all of the check boxes (at least on my VZW 8330). Set it to Blackberry.

I understand that BES users have a 2nd browser option (or perhaps only one that uses communications through BES exclusively, with the other locked down by their BES Administrator). If you're on BIS, then you should have only one web browser available on your home screen, and that would be the "Internet Browser." The BES browser is the "bb browser."

Um, yeah. The Internet Browser is the only browser I have available on my 8330, and I can view YouTube videos just fine at http://m.youtube.com.

Hey guys,

Tried everything you guys mentioned, and yet still I have nothing but a blank media player. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with my Canadian Carrier Telus.

If any of you guys have any more ideas that might help, please, please, pretty, pretty please let me know.

I greatly appreciate your efforts

Constantine

I had the same issue on my Sprint Pearl and I have it now on my Curve, I have tried everything I can think off and have no idea what can be causing it. On my case the media player launches but gives me an unsupported format error. I am starting to think that it might be some configuration on my account but I feel to stupid calling Blackberry support just because my youtube is not working.

Well I will definately call if I can locate their number. Someone else suggested callin You Tube but I dont think they have a number listed.

A request to the Moderators: It would be a good idea to have a list of some support numbers for Blackberry Support, maybe even different carrier support numbers for times like this.

Keep up the great work!

PS> If you possess the answer to this dilemma, I still want to hear from ya!

YouTube works fine for me without adjusting any settings. I wonder if some carriers turn off the ability to stream video on the 8330.

I have it with verizon, and only certain videos are able to work on youtube, many of them do not. They say they are working on making things more accessible for cell phones.

The problem does indeed lie with the carrier being Telus. Unfortunately there are no plans to fix this problem either. Tri another site such as blueapple instead.
