Default Help Need with BES 3.6

Please Login to Remove!

We recently had issues with our BES 3.6 Enterprise server. Now RIM is telling us that we need to reinstall the server software but we can not find the original disk. We have all the license codes and the database is still intact.

Anyone have any ideas? We originally purchased the BES software through AT&T which is now Cingular and our account rep has left for another company. Is the CD specific to to the account or would any 3.6 full install work? Also, is there a way to get a replacement CD?

Thanks

ATT\Cingular should still have your account and should be able to provide you with a replacement CD.

Default wrong

The software is not account specific. only the SRP id and CALS are unique

They gave me the biggest run around. Now they are telling me that they need the original account information showing the purchase that was almost 2 years ago with an account rep that has long left the company. They actually pulled up the bill but said our current account rep would have to be the one to give us the link and passwork information to be able to re download it from their site.

The RIM people have been helpful but they can not do anything since we purchased the software through AT&T (now Cingular). They did send me the Authentication Key that coresponds to my SRP ID but they could not get me a copy of the full cd.

At present time, I'm still fighting with Cingular to get another copy of the cd. I even tried to purchase the 4.0 upgrade because we have a friend of the company that has the 4.0 full install but Cingular would have to ship us out the key and it would take up to a week. With the Hurricane disaster and trying to get our stores reopened, we just don't have that time.

Still looking for another local company that might be running the same 3.6 version that we had since we still have all the database files with the stored keys and CALS in it.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

That's not true. Our 4.0 upgrade from Cingular was delivered via electronic fulfillment from BlackBerry's website.

I'm only repeating what the Cingular Business Ordering is telling me. I'm actually back on the phone with a rep right now and she knew so little that she had to read to me all the packages that they presently have because she didn't know what I needed when I said I needed a copy of our original Blackberry Berry Enterprise Server v3.6 for Microsoft Exchange cd. All they have is the 4.0 upgrade from 3.6. They no longer keep the 3.6 full install package. Its almost funny, we just need a soft copy of the full install for 3.6 without any licenses and its difficult as hell. *bangs head* Always make backup copies!

Jcoke, when you ordered the upgrade, how long did it take you to get the upgrade license and the upgrade software?

We want to upgrade but right now, its just important that we get the server up and running. RIM said that we would need to have 3.6 installed to be able to upgrade to 4.0 but we can get a copy of the full 4.0 install. I'm not sure exactly what the difference is or if it would make a difference.

Push this up their chain and don't stop until they meet your needs. I had a similar issue with ATT\Cingular (thank god we now have TSupport contract with RIM)...

Good luck...

Tried to do as much as I could. They just offered a discount on the upgrade but that doesn't help my present solution. I have a couple of extra leads on local businesses that might have a copy of the cd that they can loan me.

No luck so far. Would anyone on this board allow me to download the 3.6 image from them?

Thanks Bigyin but RIM already gave us 3.6 service pack 6 Full and 4.0.2 Full (Which I have if anyone wants) but I need the full install of the Original CD that we received with the Retail Box package which was just Blackberry Enterprise Server v3.6 for Microsoft Exchange.

They tried to get the service pack to work but it did not install all the services that the full original version installs.

Thanks again

Thanks to the person who messaged me. I really really appreciate it. We now have everything up and working again and everyone is happy again.

Time to start making back up copies of the cd's.

Default Stuck in same position

Hi all,

I'm stuck in exactly the same position now as BBCrackhead, I cannot locate the full install for BES 3.6 anywhere, and BlackBerry are being little help. BBCrackhead, do you still have the link you used or the image? I would be very grateful.

Many thanks,

Luke

Default Lost BES 3.6 Install CDs

Dear all,

just to re-iterate, I have to re-install a 3.6 server, have the correct licences etc. but canoot locate the original 3.6 CD-ROM. BB are only offering 4.0 upgrades and Service Packs and so I'm completely stuck at the moment. Please could someone help, I need the image of the original CD desperately.

Many thanks again.

Give me a moment and I'll email you. It took me a while before someone offered to assist me last time so I know your pain.
