Default Need to fix 'Unrecognized document format' error

Please Login to Remove!

I'm looking into going from version 4.1.3 to 4.1.5 to resolve the issue of the dreaded 'Unrecognized document format' error message. Any insight on things I would need to look out for with this upgrade?

What is this dreaded 'Unrecognized document format' error that you speak of?

Well, just a guess here... but maybe the document type isn't supported?
Are they Office 2007 documents by any chance?
Can you provide any additional details about what these attachments are?

yeah they're Office 2007 documents. That's why i'm planning on moving to version 4.1.5
I'm wondering if there are any specific issues i need to lookout for in moving to this version.

Well, then 4.1.5 will definitely fix that. 4.1.3 does not support Office 2007 attachments.
You need at least 4.1.4 for that.

The way you worded your original post, you made it sound like there was some awful bug in 4.1.3 which was causing your errors. This is not a bug, just a matter of functionality.

Nothing specific to look for when upgrading. Make sure you have good backups of your BES configuration database and offer yourself a way to revert to 4.1.3 should you need to.
If you're running a standard, supported configuration on BES now, then it's pretty much click-click-go to get to 4.1.5.

Anything special in 4.1.5 other than the attachment resolution that I can look forward to?

Ummm... yes.
You might want to do a little research on it. 4.1.5 was one of the most anticipated versions of BES to date, for a variety of reasons.
Read through the documentation and you'll see what was addressed in this version.
