MP3 compatible, secure digital storage, and a better browser (hear that RIM - even business people like listening to music in 1st class during business trips)!!!

Buy an Ipod then. Music is always better on a dedicated device for it and the Ipod is fantastic.

They are also cheap and are going to do a much better job of playing MP3's than any phone (including new ones due to come out) and are not going help in sucking your battery down to nothing.

I don't want RIM to put MP3 capability and external memory options on the BB if it is going to suck battery life. I NEED the core functions of my BlackBerry to work.

I also love my Ipod.

I "want" a better ring-tone system, one maybe that you can load MP3s onto, but I agree, MP3s are for iPods!

I want it to ring ~and~ vibrate, not ring ~then~ vibrate!

I want a nice color camera for attaching pictures to e-mails

Lastly

I want a built-in HTML browser and EDGE Class-10 support

But alas that is only things that I want... I need the core functions and if adding additional functionality to the BB takes away from the core functions then forget about adding them! Maybe I should change my BB to a data only device and get a camera phone... But if RIM EVER announced a classic styled BB with all the above listed features, and threw in better BT and WiFi for good measure! I'd buy the first one out!

I didn't even think about the effect an mp3 player would have on my battery life. I agree, no mp3 player. I would like SD Memory and infared. That would be cool.

but why get a SD card interface? Do you really need the storage space? On the other-hand, getting the IrDA deal working would be very cool!

YES! This is something I'd really like to see. We have the little IR window but I can't send addresses to people. I hear it is some security thing that RIM decided not to put one in. I can understand that given the nature of RIM. I don't believe that IR would be that big of a security risk. I just miss (from my Palm) being able to exchange vCards!

But back to the original topic. I wouldn't mind being able to use MP3s for ringtone. I have to say I'd like RIM to tweak these mono tones we're using... that are a big 1995. HAHA... but playing music... even when I had a Palm that could play video and music and all that, I never used it. And, to be honest, I have a lot of friends and co-workers who use Palm and PPC and thay never us it either. An iPod is the way to got for music. I have a back pack permanantly attached to me so I have a lot of room for extra devices. But I don't want my BB's battery life dropping to 10% the same day i charge it.

My blackberry should play MP3s
It should have bluetooth file exchange
It should have infinite battery life
It should play DVDs
If should be a 16MP digital camera
It should be able to drive my car
It should be a desert topping

Oh, sorry. Back in the real world, the blackberry is a tool, and it does it's job perfectly.

I agree with the iPod comments above, I actually have a Dell Pocket DJ (Better than an iPod - different forum topic) however there are times when I am flying I would like 1 device to fiddle with. For hard core MP3, I still would only use my Pocket DJ ...

Thats All I really want, IrDA support, and one single MP3 ring-tone! On my old Motorola MPx220 I got it all geeked-out with Star Wars stuff! I made my own background image, and made a ring-tone by ripping the title track from a Star Wars DVD! It was VERY cool! but the Blackberry is more useful to me than my old cell phone but I'd still like to have those customizable features.
