Default Automatic Channel Push

Please Login to Remove!

We've developed an internal directory for the BlackBerry, placed it on an internal webserver and are pretty much ready to deploy. The problem is that I don't want to have to add each person's e-mail address or PIN to the channel DB each time I add a user to the BES so they can get the pretty new channel icon on the BlackBerry.

Anybody know of a way (or a script) that can automatically deploy a channel to a device when the user is added/activated on the BES?

Thx.

We´ve made it self service. One has to opt in to get the channel pushed out. For this purpose we´ve created a general db. There´s also a form to be able to read encrypted mail (lotus domino domain). Although premature we think we´re on the right path , so to say .

We took the sample code from RIM and modified it so we could enter a SQL query to build the list of users we wanted the app pushed to.

I believe thats the approach we're going to use as well.
When you add somebody to the BES, to they get the app automatically?

Actually ... we query the sql db first to get the users in the first place. Pushing out something default would'nt be that hard. As we are using LEI (lotus enterprise integrator) that isn't to complicated either.

Question then for me is what sample code ? If it is a query direct from a notes db I'm interested!

We've taken the sample ECL code from RIM and modifed it to point to an internal URL for our staff directory instead of the actual database. That way, when Human Resources updates the Staff Directory, the entries are updated and we don't have to edit.
