I have a blackberry 8310 on the Roger's Network in Canada. Every time I run IM+ v5.26 I get an error that says: "Uncaught exception: net.rim.device.api.system.ControlledAccessExceptio n" Any Ideas?

Cheers.

wcameron,

You would need to edit security permissions on your Blackberry.

1. Open Options/Security/Application Permissions
2. Select IM+
3. Select Edit Permissions from the menu
4. Configure the Security Permissions to "Allow" for all categories.
5. Save the changes

Then please try to launch IM+ once more.

Hi SHAPE, thanks for the follow-up.

I'll keep an eye out for it.

Hello bb8310,

IM+ is based on data.
The price was set according to the services we offer, all updates for the application are free, and a quality customer support via email is available.

Comparing to JiveTalk IM+ has the following features:
* Use multiple accounts of the same service simultaneously.
* Ability to send cheap or even free SMS worldwide right from IM+
* All connections types are supported, including WiFi (for OS 4.3)
* Missed Events notifications are now available in contact list view and in background mode. (other notifications are available)
* In case of disconnection, any contacts with open dialogs or unread messages remain in the contact list.
* Add, edit or delete Autoaway and Global Status messages.
* Online translating tool.
* View archived messages from your contacts. Save, Search, Filter, TimeStamp options.
* Send message history by e-mail or save it to a file (OS 4.2 and higher).
* Conferences in MSN / Live Messenger.
* Offline messagesxxx8217; delivery in MSN. Send E-mail when your MSN contact is offline.

The full list of IM+ features can be found at IM+ All-in-One Mobile Messenger: AIM/iChat, MSN/Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo!, ICQ, Jabber, Google Talk, MySpaceIM :: BlackBerry :: Products

Having tried berryvine, IM+, Jivetalk (earlier version of a demo) and webmessenger, I am satisfied that the best out there is Jivetalk.

Default WiFi only support

I'm a new BB owner and just bought IM+ (5.2.8) and IM+ for Skype (3.2.3). Just want to emphasize it is important for people like me to minimize how much we need to pay for data access. Sooner IM+ can support that, then I don't have to shutdown IM+ manually when I walk off WiFi zone

BTW, I also encountered a problem with IM+ for Skype. Seems like I won't able to change the display name for my contact. It is hard to remember who is who without able to reset the display name manually.

Thanks,
llee68

Thank you llee68, we will take this into consideration when improving IM+ and IM+ for Skype in future.

Dear users,

It's been awhile since we posted some news for you. But the time has come! We have a huge update of IM+ All-in-One Mobile Messenger for you! This is not something like a slight bugfix - this is a tremendous improvement that will leave all other mobile IMs behind! ha-ha))

NEW IM PUSH TECHNOLOGY!!!

With this feature you can exchange instant messages without even running any IM client on the BlackBerry!

How it works:

1) Upon exiting IM+, you are offered to stay online in "IM Push" mode. In this mode, IM+ on your BlackBerry is not running, thus saving precious battery life.

2) In IM Push mode you remain online in all IM services, and continue receiving IMs as e-mails pushed to your BlackBerry mailbox.

3) Your replies will be converted to instant messages and will be delivered back to your contact.

This newest technology would save the life of your battery in times and will let you stay in the convenient and usual email environment!

Explore the latest IM+ version 6.0 with IM Push functionality

Post your feedbacks about how you liked the innovation here!
