Default Blackberry maps help

Please Login to Remove!

For some reason when I use "locate me" on blackberry maps, it stays forever on "searching for satellites, whereas on google maps it works. Is there any explanation for this.

EDIT: I have an 8310 Curve if that helps.

Make sure the GPS on your BB is seeing satellites. Options > Advanced > GPS > Menu > Refresh.

Google Maps will use a cell tower triangulation to locate you with several hundred meters if the GPS is available, you could be seeing that.

I'm having the same problem. When I go to Options > Advanced > GPS and press the Menu key the only options in the menu are Change Option, Save Switch Application and Close.

Im getting the same message! Before it worked fine:( I dunno its because before I was outside in village and now im in city or what. I heard big towers can block the gps signal. Aswell I reinstalled BB OS so I dunno maybe that causes it too or what. Im lost.

Try it again. And again.

After an OS upgrade it can take 10 minutes for the refresh, and a few tries. This is same situation occurred with me last week. Be in a clear view of the sky, with no large buildings blocking you from a clear view of the sky.

Last week for me was the first time I had needed to refresh about three times before it worked.

Pull the battery, reboot, and try it again, is about the best I can recommend to you.
