Hi,

When I go to Verizon Wireless website from this link in the forums to download latest OS, it says it is 4.3.127. On my BB, I go to options-about, it says v4.3.0.127.

How do I get the 4.5 version?

OS 4.5 for the 8830 is not available, not released by any carriers or RIM yet for use.

But, here is the latest available released OS for your 8830 (and it is not 4.3)

My bad, not sure what I was thinking while typing....I have the Verizon Curve 8330, so this link won't help me.

I do see that there is a 4.5 version floating around, at least with threads relating to it. What are the impacts of installing this version OS when it is not a standardized release from Blackberry, or simply how did it appear?

It's definitely a Blackberry OS. It just hasn't been released for public use. People leak them on the internet. However, we don't allow any posting of links or asking for links for downloading these OS's.
