No issues here. .83 solid here. Love the fact that the speed dial dialing sounds are back! Also seems faster landscape/portrait switching. And the icons seem larger even though I have mine set for a single screen display of 4x4.

Do you have GMail Mobile Installed?

How is everyone getting GMail working on there phone? Are they using IMAP, POP or the GMail Application?

Do a search for it...this forum does not allow us to post download links to unsupported or (potentially) illegal apps/os's. A quick google search should do it though (type blackberry 4.7.0.83).

Start the download then wipe your phone, it will save time because you will be downloading while your phone is wiping (which could take a while depending on the amount of data). Let me know if you have any questions. I am going to officially not recommend GMail mobile at this time.

Options -> Security Options -> General Settings -> Blackberry Button -> Wipe Handheld Option

When you do the install there will be an option to delete all third party apps from phone (or something to that effect), make sure you check that box...

Good Luck!

I don't use the GMail app. No need. Just use BIS to point to your GMail account(s). Shows up as regular e-mail with no overhed. All e-mails show up in Messages, or you can see them separately in the individual account Message Windows. I have about 8 e-mail accounts feeding into my phone and it is totally seamless. 73

.83 hasnt been released by VZW (to my knowledge). As Zduchne said, just google the version... d/l it... delete or rename the Vendor.xml and... use the loader.exe to install. You will be good to go.

I don't like to wipe before installing new OS versions... never saw the need.

and no... no gmail on my phone... don't use it.

After 4 or 5 reboots/freezes yesterday I downgraded to .75 last night...I am hoping this does the trick.

Those of you that are successful with .83, did you upgrade to .75 first or go straight out of the box to .83? I upgraded to .75 first. I really don't think this will make a difference, just curious why some phones will take it and some will definitely not take it, especially if the hardware is the same and the software is the same.

Well, after a few hours with .75 again, I realize how much more the device lags...I really hope there is another update soon that will not be as buggy as .83. Has anyone heard anything yet? Also, I am not installing GMail Mobile App. It is a pain w/o it since you don't get the full control of GMail with BB Internet Services but I will have to manage for now.
