I don't know specifically. I think you will need to experiment to narrow the problem. For example, are you using the media app, or the camera app to look at photos? If so, what happens if you use the files app to look directly at the folder where the photo is located, and open the photo file from there?

Possibilities I can think of:

Need for a hard reset (battery pull)

Problem with the app

Problem with the files

Corrupt dat files (you can search and delete all the .dat files. Use mass storage mode and search, including hidden files.)

Corrupt memory (run a repair)

Bad media card

... Start with the most easy, most simple troubleshooting steps first, begining with a hard reset
.

Well, as I say, you need to experiment. And I would add low memory to the list of possibilities I made above. Another possibility might be interference by another app you have installed. Start ruling out possibilities.

Next step is check memory. Free up memory if you need to. Run repair on you media card, and on built in media memory if you have it.

Or, you can reinstall the OS and start over clean. All depends on what seems the less painful and least time consuming to you.

But do a full backup before you do anything else.
