Default Blackberry Desktop Manager not recognizing SD Micro Card

Please Login to Remove!

I've downloaded multiple versions of BB Desktop Manager but all of them keep telling me that I have to turn on Mass Storage Mode in order for the software to recognize my media card....but it's all on

My unit recognizes the card but for some reason the software does not. Does anyone have any tips/suggestions on what I should do?

The phone is a Blackberry Curve 8900.

Thanks in advance

Can you see the media card as a mounted drive in MY COMPUTER ?

Not sure where you're expecting to see the SD card in Desktop Manager?

Hey Jadey
Nope, not seeing it in MY COMPUTER either (and I tried it on a number of different computers using different OS's [xp, vista]). Well I thought in Desktop Manager (the latest version) I'd be able to click "Media" on the left hand side - so either music, of photos, or videos - and then I would be able to upload or download from the sd card...but whenever I click on music or photos or videos on the Desktop Manager software it gives me the message that it cannot read the card if Mass Storage Mode is not on...but the thing is that it is!

It is very frustrating.

Thanks for your interest in my problem by the way. Any advice?

Can the PC see the card if you don't open desktop manager? Mine is seen but then I have to enter my password on the device (even if I have done so on the PC) to allow mass storage mode....

I'm wondering whether your SD card is OK. The BB defo sees it in Options > Memory? You can see the SD card and total space and free space?

Yup, I can see it in Option > Memory (including how much space it has); and I've stored pictures on it.

hmm, this seems very interesting. I'm at work now but will try it as soon as I get home and let you know how it goes.

Thanks for this though

Hey everyone!
Just to let you know, the link on Andi's msg worked! I installed BB Desktop Manager 5.0 (I hadn't tried this version before) and just to check I tried accessing my sd card using this version without running Andi's suggest link. It couldn't access the card. So I went through the pretty simple instructions outlined in the link and it worked! Really didn't take that long.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for all of your help Andi and Jadey. I would be really lost and losing a lot of time if not for you guys (and ppl like you).

THANKS AGAIN and have a GREAT weekend!
