Default VZW WinMo Customer looking for Blackberry Guidance

Please Login to Remove!

Hello and Help! (and please forgive the newbie questions)

I am a VZW customer (not many other options due to coverage around here) who has been using an HTC SmartPhone with WindowsMobile to access my personal email, web and company email.

Company uses Outlook Servers that connect to Blackberry devices, but up until recently, they have also offered Outlook Mobile Access for those of us who stayed with the WinMo world. With the latest upgrade of the Mail Servers, Microsoft eliminated the Mobile Access (text) feature... which left a few of us in the lurch... and essentially requiring us to move to BBry (or iPhone, which I can't do because of AT&T's service levels here).

So here's the questions: With a Blackberry, can I set up a separate "personal" email (gmail, or other Pop mail) as well as my Outlook sync through my company? I assume I can do full web browsing and all kinds of other fun applications... right?

I am used to a touch-screen on my XV6800... what's the BBry touch screen like? Is there tactile response to the dialing keys? I do want a full keyboard, but can deal with touch keyboard as long as I don't need a stylus all the time.

Can anyone give me some guidance on what BBry phone to look for? Battery life is important as I am on the phone a good deal of the time. But I don't want to sacrifice functionality just for a "cell phone."

thanks.., and again, apologies for the newbie questions. The guys at my local VZW store were more interested in chatting with each other than helping guide me in the right way.

yes you can setup a personal email and browse
AS LONG AS your company's IT policy allows this.

So I need to check and see if the company "locks" my email and browsing capabilities when they "connect" me to the email server...

Yuk!

yup once activated on the BES, an IT policy gets pushed to the device and can either do nothing i.e. a basically blank policy or restrict almost everything that isnt BES/work related.
