Wink wireless activation on Groupwise BES

Please Login to Remove!

I have a GW BES 4.0 server (4.0.3 Hotfix 3 (bundle 19) and the wireless activation isn't working on it. I set the activation password then enter that into the blackberrywith the proper email address and it just sits there at activating and never appears to reach the server. Is there a setting on the BES that might have been set to prevent a wireless activation or something?
HELP!

Thanks!

Are you receiving the activation email in the users inbox? Do you have the required port opened in you firewall? Sorry I don't remember the port number.

1. Can you log into the GWC from the BES and see that user's account?
2. Does the admin user have a valid GW mailbox?
3. What version of GWC is installed on the BES, if it does not report 6.5.7 then install it (6.5.6 Update 1)
4. Put SP5a on that BES too.

5. what d_fisher said, is your SRP connected and does the Activation email ever reach the user's mailbox (and are they deleting them like the email says not to)

Check your spam filters.... rim was blocked by mine when I first installed the BES. I use a barracuda.

The user is recieving the activation email. Is the email needed when you can set the activation password on the server? The email that my BES is sending doesn't say anything about not deleting it.

I've logged into the users GW account using the GWC on the BES and it works fine. I don't have 6.5.7 so i'll work on getting that and the SP5a.

Port 3101 is not being blocked. .
we also have a barracuda system but this wasn't working long before that came.

You should get an email from [email address] or something similar telling you to not delete it, BES 4.0.x will move it to the trash folder so you can check there too. If the message does not arrive you should whitelist the blackberry.net domain.

Could there be anything set on the BES itself to be preventing the emails from that address to be sent? I'm getting our groupwise admin to look into wether it's being blocked or not but am wondering if there's anything else on the BES i should be looking for.

Thanks!

Think about it, the message hasn't touched the BES yet so there is no setting. Make sure the handheld is correctly provisioned for enterprise and you have spelt the email address correctly. You can test this by typing another email address that you know does not have Spam filtering and seeing if that message arrives. If it does then it is your GroupWise/Spam system at fault.
