I just won 10 blackberries from Cingular and want to unlock them.

How the heck do I get the MEP code to unlock them? These guys who are doing it online...are they using some sort of calculator to get the code? If so, how can I get access to that?

The MEP code is unique to each BlackBerry. You can call Cingular for the codes, or pay one of the people who offers the unlocking service. I dont know of anyone who has the calculator you speak of. Never seen it mentioned before either.

Cingular won't deal with me because I don't have an account with them.

I imagine you want to sell them as unlocked or at least some of them, If I were you Id pay the $45 a piece and you would get that back in the sale of the first one, so if you won ten I would pretend I won 9 and call it even.

I did use the unlock code calculator for my nokia 3595 before, but never heard of one for BB. But if it does have one, it will leak out to the public eventually.

I believe you have to get it from your carrier, or purchase the unlock code from a vendor who specializes in unlocking phones. One such source that is mentioned here is GSMPhoneSource.com

People who provide the unlock codes have access to the list of codes the carriers keep. They get the code from AT&T, T-Moible, etc and then sell it to you. There is no calculator.
