This is what Im so nervous of every time I flash my firmware on my At&t 8110. Never had a problem <yet> but every time a new OS comes out, I get excited and then nervous.

Default Still a problem

I'm still having the same problem. I tried several times this weekend and never any luck. It stops when it tries to reinitialize the phone. When I go to load the 4.3 software back on I get a message that says something to the effect that I have 4.5 but would you like to go back to 4.3. The phone does nothing but flash the red light.

sshivler: At which stage in the upgrade process is it unable to initialize to device? Do you have an error message?

dodomir: What does your screen show now? Where did it go wrong.

The more you tell us the more we will be able to help you.

Read the above advice from zerog46. Kill the device completely with JL_cmd and reinstall.

What is the command prompt thing? What command did you use? Could you tell me more?

i couldn't get the JL_cmd to work.I think vista is the problem (OFC).
Then i went to the next step of zerog's post and the reinstall worked ok untill the step when BB has to restart..it shuts but doesn't turn on.

Did you try JL_cmd on another PC?

After the restart does it go dead or do you get an hourglass?

cant get to another pc atm .almost midnight where i'm at.

Unable to reconnect to the device during a multi-stage load operation.

this is the message i get from application loader ,the screen stays black all time, only the led stops flashing during the time loader "cleans"the bb..then it's the reinitialization step and that's when i get the message above.

Try these ones.

You can find more yourself by using the search. I searched for "unable to reconnect to the device during a multi-stage load operation"

These are just three possible solutions and there are many more. I quickly read through them and a lot of them had or have the same issues as you currently have.

BlackBerryForums.com : Your Number One BlackBerry Community - Search Results

Hope you find the solution!

OK.. after the night of fighting with my BB i finally managed to revive him. As consequence i'm waiting for my T-mobile support crew to press charges on me for harasement. and my girlfriend to come home with a gun and shoot me..
BUT IT'S ALIVE.

1. managed to get jl_cmd to work on vista(run as administrator) and wiped it

2. uninstalled 4.5 version of the OS from my PC and left 4.3

3. Upgraded the dead phone to 4.3 (all worked as smooth as u could wish) and synchronized it with my PC

4. installed 4.5 version once again, prayed for a few minutes, and did the upgrade..this time everything worked well.

Thanks for help..

See the previous post from zerog46 and mine to dodomir. Start with JL_cmd.

Thanks anyway.But nothing work........................I don't understand.
I tried everything.....:
JL-cmd wipe
Full battery and usb hub principal connection
2 more computers
Without the memory card
Without my sim card
Using Loader.exe
Deleting vendor.xml
Using official software from ATT 8110
Using official software from Vodafone 8110
Desktop Manager 4.2 , 4.3, 4.5 , 4.6 and 4.7.
Deleting desktop manager updating handle software....

When i put the OS 4.3 back is very easy,............. My ATT 8110 no upgrade possible....
