Question Undecided what FREE Weather App to use

Please Login to Remove!

Hello All,
I would like to add a FREE weather App, but im undecided which to use?
I keep going back and forth to other sites and reading what other people say
the good or bads, Here is what im looking for or would like to have, a icon that shows on home screen of the current temp, cloudy, rainy or whatever it maybe? Like some where near the clock or where ever it goes? then when i click on the Applications icon it shows the main icon where i click on it. Im sure there isnt any free apps that show a radar thats animaited when i click on it?.. Anyways i hope some of you all can give me some feedback in which to use, Thankyou for reading,,

Oh i do have pocket express but never launched it yet and messed with it.

Download and try them all... Delete the ones you don't like and keep the one that you do...

I will say that for $10 measly dollars, BeWeather is hands down the best! Download th trial and see if you like, if you do, it's worth the $10...

I love BB Weather. It's written and maintained/updated by a forum member, tateu. Fast, small footprint, and FREE!

OTA (version 0.88): http://www.tateu.net/software/dl.php?f=BBWeather

No, it's stand-alone and doesn't interface with the BB's home screen.

I don't think that is entirely correct. It does have a home screen icon that you can set to display the current temp/conditions.

You're right! I know it worked like that on older versions, but I just assumed that with the switch to the new data provider this feature went away. I had unchecked (default setting) "Enable Home Screen Update". Re-checking it brings back the current temp on a blue background. Groovy baby, yeah!

I like Weather Eye as a good all around free app, it might suit the op. I had been using it for a while until BerryWeather came out with animated radar maps that you can edit, change\add to your liking and GPS.

I really like WeatherBug Direct. Home screen icon, animated radar, customizable alerts.

+1. If you're in a metropolitan area, you can't beat WeatherEye as a free BB weather app. They don't have coverage for most rural areas, though.

As far as free goes, I love BBWeather, but have been messing around with Weatherbug lately, just for the radar. The radar's not animated but it's a good view. Overall though, BBWeather hands down.

If you're willing to pay a monthly fee, the best I've seen is My-Cast:
My-Cast - Weather on your mobile phone.

I haven't used it in a while, but in addition to the usual, it's got nice animated radar, lightning strikes, and a lot more. Very nice app. It used to be $4-5 dollars total, but since Garmin took it over, it's gone to a monthly subscription.

I have installed a ton of these programs, whether free or on trial and I always come back to BBWeather. That just seems the best in the simplest (and least annoying) interface. Go with that one and you will be happy.

I'll agree that BBWeather is a good program and have used it before. I've been using Weather midlet (weather.midlets.eu) for a while now. The one downside to it is that it prompts you to access the website every time you open the program.

And BBWeather just keeps getting better and better... Tateu is now working on a GPS location for BBW... see that thread in the Aftermarket Software forum, too.

I 3rd the nomination for Tateu's app. It works beautifully. Being a motorcycle rider, thr GPS function is too freakin' nice!!

I was using Weatherbug Direct - but it is now in the land of the deleted.
