Default BES Server--new install issue (no emails)

Please Login to Remove!

Hello , We just got through installing our BES server . We are having a problem with one user not getting emails. The phone is blinking a light , the server is not showing any errors. It was working fine yesterday. Today it went south.

Anything we should check on the server? IS there a queue we should look at? Thanks

Souns like the device does not have data service...check to see if you can send a P2P message to the device. If that works, make sure that the service books on the device are correct, and if that looks fine, just reprovision the device.

Send an email from the handheld with issues, this should fail, when it does open the messages, select the send message that failed (it has a cross next to it), open the message and read the error msg, that should give you more of a clue what is going wrong.

cheers

On the handheld you can check that you have the proper signal showing...
EDGE for EDGE devices
GPRS for GPRS devices
1X for CDMA
1X-EV for Ev-Do
NXTL for iDEN

Note that all the letters have to be upper case.

On the BES, go to the user list, and doubleclick on the user. Does it show anything for "Messages Pending to handheld"? If it does, then it's probably handheld related. If it does not, then it's probably server related.
