Default 8700G as modem - what connection speeds?

Please Login to Remove!

I just got my 8700g a few hours ago and am now using it as a modem. The connection speed is only at 75.5kbps - is this typical or is there anything I can do to get it faster?

Is your connection signal GRPS or EDGE. If your using GPRS your speeds will be drastically slower than EDGE. Check with your service provider to see if your in an EDGE coverage area.

it is EDGE. I just was certain it'd be faster than what it is - that is nearly dial up! What are you getting?
