Default Selling My New 9780

Please Login to Remove!

i had alot of problems with my first 9780 and returned it and got a second new 9780....you can search through my previous posts for the details if interested....

i had some of the same issues with the new phone too but it was a bit better....and i admit the newer software updates are fixing MOST of the problems that i had....

but for some reason i just do not like the phone....i have been using the phone now for about 3 months....i thought i would get used to it but i have not....even though i have had many BBs in my time....

i think the main thing is the keyboard....i cant seem to get used to typing fast on it and often make mistakes....this never happened with my previous BBs....with my other BBs (last one being an 8310) i can type with lightning speed and never mess up....maybe its the space between the letters on the 8310??

i guess the bottom line is i do not like all of the problems i have had with these two 9780s when i never had one single problem with my previous BBs....i think that gave me a false sense of confidence and made me think i was safe with whatever BB model i purchased next....i guess i was wrong....

i still feel like the 9780 is a poorly built unit....my trackpad is loose and there are a few other imperfections that are the same as my first phone....back to the old trusty 8310 for now....

If you want to sell it, go to the Buy / Sell / Trade section and make a proper post.

If you are selling on eBay, read the FAQ article on buying a BB on eBay so you will know what to expect. Make sure that you canceled your BIS account and/or removed any IT Policy. That will eliminate a lot of problems.

That's your Blackberry Internet Service (email, web browsing, etc). Has nothing to do with with business.

Nope - your BIS account still has your phone connected to it, if you've ever activated it.

Your thought was incorrect. Well, somewhat at least. If you currently have a BB data plan(BIS) associated with the PIN and IMEI numbers of your 9780, the purchaser will not be able to activate a BB dataplan on their account because you never canceled yours.

And I don't really understand your thread. Are you just ranting? If so, there is a more appropriate place for such.

It is a rant -- but he "wants people to know about the problems with these phones".

As long as you use the change device option in BIS to enter your old BB PIN and IMEI, this will release your current BB from BIS, allowing the buyer to use it on their BIS.

On your phone go to setup>personal email setup. This will take you online to your BIS account. You can also do this from a computer.

Many carriers no longer allow access to the BIS via a PC, but only by the BB interface. I can't access it on Bell's site anymore...I get a message telling me that it can only be accessed via the device now.

I didn't know that. I still can access it via computer with AT&T.
