Question Disable Voice Recording

Please Login to Remove!

Does anybody know if it's possible to completely disable the voice recording feature from the BES? I ask because I work in a very secure environment, and this is deemed a security risk.

Thanks for the help!

I didn't see anything in the policies - the only reference I saw to voice recording was to force the LED to blink if the microphone was active... sorry I couldn't be more help.

I believe if you disable MMS, you effectively disable the voice recorder. I say this because we have MMS disabled, and while the voice recorder will let me record, it won't let me play back, save, or send the results anywhere.
YMMV.

only thing i see is in the new BES 4.1.5

Disable Voice Note Recording "Specify whether the voice note recording feature on the BlackBerry device is turned on.

Set this rule to True to turn off the voice note recording feature and prevent applications on the BlackBerry device from accessing it.

If you do not set this rule, a default value of False will be used.

This rule applies only to Java-based BlackBerry devices version 4.3.0 and higher."

That was my thinking as well, though the option that will be available 4.1.5 looks to be exactly what I want. Thanks!
